Remember Remember...

...the fifth of November, gun powder, treason and lots and lots of pretty sparkles.

Last night was so much fun. It was only me and my boyfriend that braved the cold weather last night at the local display. With my new Topshop scarf at the ready, we set off for a night of big bangs and smoke filled air. The first port of call was the hot chocolate stand. There's nothing better than watching fireworks in the sky with a polystyrene cup of hot chocolaty goodness with extra sugar to make the night sweeter.

A huge bonfire was lit minus the poor guy on top. It has been a long time since I have seen a proper Guy Fawkes creation on top of a bonfire, perhaps it is deemed politically incorrect or other nonsense. I remember last year at university the children of Middlesbrough lined the streets outside the shops and pubs with the less than creative balloon or ball stuffed up a old tracksuit top with a hood over its head to represent Guy Fawkes. A penny for the guy I think not!

We stood and watched the sparkling spectacle on the sky that lasted a good hour and by the time it was over we were ready to get back in the car to go sit in front of a nice warm fire of our own, again minus the guy, with a big, porcelain, cup of marshmallow hot chocolate. It doesn't get much better
than that!

How did you lovely ladies spend November the fifth? Inside watching the fireworks from the comfort (and central heated) of your own homes, or like me did you wrap up and head out to your local display?
